Our third Roots Down Member Roll Call is happening July 12. This time we'll be joined by Natasha Dyer of Beyond Zero Waste, who will drop some knowledge about home composting. About Natasha Dyer

In 2012, after working for over a decade in the garment manufacturing industry, circumstances in the job market led Natasha Dyer back to school to enter the green economy.  After taking an exploratory course in waste reduction and learning how organic waste decaying in landfills is the third cause of manmade greenhouse gas emissions, a new purpose was born.  Shortly after completing that certificate course, she was off to grad school, eventually gaining an MA in Urban Sustainability from Antioch University--all studies, writings, and capstone activities focusing on how and why municipalities should move quickly to divert more organics from the waste stream.  Fast forward to 2022 and another decade behind her, Natasha now works on regional food system solutions that focus on capturing wasted edible surplus food to feed food insecure Atlantans as well as working with all kinds of partners to create decentralized composting solutions that benefit local urban agriculture.
